I dunno maybe some D-rings down each side and front on top. I might take some flatbar and make a "rubrail" on each side.

Either way it will have way more hookup points than ever needed. I dont need side boards for this thing, I dont think.

Its got to have a winch on front too. I cant afford a rollback truck so this is my next best option!

Always nice to have stake pockets in case you want to throw on some sideboards for a swapmeet or something. If you have some extra 2X4X.120 it's easier to do it now.:awesomework: Looks good though.

the decking is just sitting in place. I have to pull the 2x6s off to paint it black today.

I got some Derusto rusty metal primer at walmart. It was marked down from27 bucks to 5 a gallon!! :nana1: I primed the main frame and sides and tongue. I liked the look of the primer on the wood and it was oil based do it cant hurt with moisture. So the deck boards got a coat too.:awesomework:

the tongue and new 14K bulldog adjustable hitch. It gets a coat of black paint today!!:cheer:

heres some shots of the dovetail going together. It is 3feet long and is covered in .250 wall diamond/tread plate. It is fully welded so no edges can get bent up when winching scrap on. I wanted the first few feet of deck to be abuse friendly. The end is capped with 3x5 angle leaving a 5" surface to flush mount lights and a lic plate.

I like it, looks good. I woulda went with a pintle hitch. But i turn everything into a pintle cuz i like to

Thats why the hitch bolts up. Unbolt it and bolt up a pintle. I have several army rigs and the pintle option is a must. I have several pintles available. They were a quick seller at the swapmeet this year.:awesomework:

Actually, i will probably get in contact with you. I'm buying and enclosed trailer for work next week and would like that to have a pintle on it too. :redneck:

Been awhile since I brought the camera in.

Got a coat of rusty metal primer on. Then the next day the ole lady wanted to paint!!:cheer: I gave her a can of black and way she went.

I also painted all the boards with a brown oil based paint. The trailer guys claim that pressuer treated boards are weaker than normal ones. I looked and most trailer MFGers that offer treated boards and most just have sealer painted on them, no pressure treated like I was told!:awesomework:

Got some wiring parts. A battery and break away switch. A Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller, and a new hitch ball (14K 2-5/16 ball). Also got all LED lights for this mutha!:bling: Some baddass trailer cable and the drawer to make it come together!! My friend Jack (biglug) offered to wire it up for me seeing as how hes the head parts and service guy at FREWAY TRAILERS in tacoma!! Thanks Jack

So I looked around and all I could find/afford for tires was some worn out used ones or shitty Carlisles.

In a 15 inch it seems you cant get a tire good for more than 2500k. I decided to go with 16s.
I walked the wrecking yard about twenty times today and finnaly decided on these 6lug chev 1500 wheels. 6.5 wide and 5 inch backspace. Perfect to bring my tires in a bitt.

I then started looking for One ton vans, they seem to always have HD 16" tires.:redneck:

I found a set of hankook 245/75/16s that were 80 percent or better. They are a load range E with 3200K per tire rating. My wrecking yard sponser (ROY Y) let me have the tires and wheels for $50 since I pulled them. I even snuck back and used the tire machine to mount these babies up.:awesomework:

I know all about the truck/trailer tire debate, but I cant afford trailer tires right now and these will work fine till I can get a killer deal on some factory takeoffs.:cheer:

I figured Id rater have good top notch truck tires than shitty carlisles!!:kissmyass:

nice beaver tail you got there brad!!!! refering to the trailer of course!! i have that same controller and love it.

thats cool brad, looks like it could have used a third axle. It amazes me how you build everything overkill but yet two little bolts hold the hitch coupler on.
