tube bender

this isnt local but there is a vendor on pirate4x4 that is selling air over hydraulic tube benders that use jd2 or protools dies for 600 bucks:cool:. Pretty good deal there is also one running good deals on the jd2 model 3 manual. Just look in the vendor section:awesomework:

I dont post very often but the tubing bender I just got finished building from Gottrikes.com. You can buy the plans and even the machined parts for 300. the stick of 2X2X.25 cost me about 80. It is a air over hydraulic bender and bends like 2deg per second. It uses pro-tools 105 dies. it sits on its own so no stand and bends really well. The guy who designed it is working on a degree marking system for it but I just bought a magnetic digital angle finder and ust it. I will never buy the degree part. U have to have a welder or have it welded together I used a chop saw and drill press and it was easy in a evening I was done minus finish welding. Take a look and see if you are interested in it.

not local but I would buy from Speedway Motors. Theirs is like the one that Toycrusher is refering to. Their price is 399.00 and that includes 1 set of dies and they pay the shipping. Not a bad deal in my book...

I just picked this one up yesterday,The guy was onlt asking $180.00 for it.I traded him an rc rock crawler for it.

1.5"x120* 5" radius. Its built after the "blind chicken racing" design.

works good but hand pumping that jack handle will flat wear ya out or make ya buff.Im converting it to air/hydraulic tonight so I can just push a button.

Ive been looking for a while I was just in the right place at the right time.I prefer to call it good karma.:awesomework:

now I got to figure out how to bend tube properly, been reading the tube bending for dummies thread.:redneck:

I have heard nothing but really good things about everything that Baleigh sells. If you got the $$ do it.

X2 I have a jd2 model 3 converted to hydraulic and a pile of dies and I am also eyeballin ballieghs benders. They look to be top notch:awesomework:

From what I have read the Baleigh sounds sick. You can do a full 180 degrees without moving a pin. It looks really beefy, and like stated above most everything Baleigh sells I have heard good things about. Also it has three speed increments for bending the tube. Here is a link to some info I was reading from Pirate: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=771997 Hope this helps.

yea I have a jd2 sitting in the shop & dont even want to do the work of drilling to the floor.( cause I just dont like it at all) I figured if I dumped a bunch of cash on dies for the jd2 Id kick myself later for not getting the one I wanted. Im just gonna get the baleigh and a few dies. I will let u guys know how I like it. & thanks for all the help

one of my friends told me if I was getting rid of it to call him. I will see if he still wants it first. I will let ya know but it will be monday b4 I know too.

I think the vertical design is nice. thats what i like better about the lowbuck. If u call them they could prob make that bender work w pro tools dies. thats where all the money goes in benders those dies are rediculous expensive. check out the bend tek its like 300 with a die all it does is 1 1/2 & 1 3/4 though

fedex came today

hell yeah so assembled it took about an hr it came sooner then I expected bend tek pro came also ,I hated asking people to use there **** hopefully I can make some $$ with it, Thanks to my wife she's the **** couldn't ask for more :cheer:

What size compressor are you using to run the ram? Does the ram take a lot of air to push?

the big huskey at home depot, regulator at 90 psi I just leave in there because thats what the plasma cutter runs at,seems to work fine.

I was wondering if they is a special type of oil/fluid requirements, hydraulic oil
or neumatic oil that the ram uses?
