Time to play with the big kids.

I agree 100%. I know a fellow that burned up 5 PSC p-pumps (due to rpm's)and went to POS steering. Sean at POS makes an extremly reliable p-pump, just don't add rear steer:eeek:

From the people I've talked to they all said it has to do with the resi, plumbing layout and cooling if your using a mild tweaked P pump. If you use the hotrodded super P pump they will blow up.

I added a couple idler pulleys to help get some more wrap on the Alternator.

Been getting **** done, not to many pics. Got working on the the new exhaust tubing, Kevco oilpan installed, and a bunch of loose ends taken care of. Was going to hold off on pics till its done but I'm proud of how this turned out.

8 litre/quart fluid rack, racing with DSI, I've learned storage for fluids is a must so I built it in to the fuel cell cage.

The fuel cell cage/fluid rack bolts in so I can pull the whole thing out and install a small tank for rock crawling comps if I want to shed some weight and gain back some visibility.

Started mounting some of the stuff needed to make this thing run. I've upgraded to a bigger transmission cooler which wouldn't fit in the old ones spot so that gave me some much needed real estate for the fuel system stuff. I decided not to mess around with the fuel system. Fuel pump issues caused us major headaches during the Vegas to Reno race in the 115 deg heat. DSI did some research, made some phone calls and put up the $ to test out a better fuel system.

So if its good enough for a Geiser Bro's trophy truck, and has been working flawlessly on DSI's buggy, its good enough for me.

A Holley "lift" pump feeding an Aeromotive high pressure pump. The Holley is mounted below the cell to help get a siphon effect going. I think I'm going to build a small light weight skid plate to protect it from the odd branch and/or rock that finds it way up there.

One of the the things I've been working on. I really tried to jam the PSC reservoir in there to save time, it just would not fit without breaking every one of PSC rules as far as feeding the pump goes. This one is a bit larger and has internal baffles that will hopefully keep fluid feeding to the pump at any angle. All tacked up, just needs to be welded up and a couple tabs added to mount it.

Got a bunch of stuff done, not to many pictures. My buddy Colin got the new exhaust stuff all tig'd up, front shock reservoir mounts made. I got the rear reservoir mounts done, took JasonC's idea for his mounts on his KOH buggy and ran with it. A couple pics of the start of the spare tire carrier. Its bolts on, so I'll be pulling off for trail wheeling and rockcrawling comps.

not sure, looks to be about double the big PSC one.

I spoke to PSC about doing a custom odd-shaped reservoir that would 'fit' the convenient location I had available and they said that for the system to work properly, the reservoir needs to exploit gravity by providing as much columnar pressure as possible. It was suggested the that ideal reservoir would be as tall as possible and round (not too large of diameter either) to focus the weight of the fluid down to the pump.

If your reservoir works well, I would use it as motivation to be more creative with the size, shape and location of my reservoir.

Well its taller than PSC's big reservoir and its got a Sump thats v shaped so hopefully it works. If anthing it'll put more gravity feed pressure on the pump when its side hilling or climbing. :redneck: I hope it works.
 
Hey Pook, any pics of how you did your front driveshaft/pillow block?

I can get some, its not 100% done just need to add some weld washers and fishplate it a bit to stiffen it up, but its currently in the truck mocked up so I'll take some pics tomorrow.

Besides **** is getting done, I just haven't posted pics :flipoff:

I am also still waiting on a few parts to show up. Seems everyone is dragging there ass after the holidays. Transmission cooler is the missing link to finish off the rear of the buggy 100%.

Interior is back in and being modded to fit the new motor, waiting on some intake hose 90's to show up so I can finish the new intake system. Made some custom coil pack holders to move them out of the way of the tube work and the firewall. Probably start plumbing and wiring tomorrow.

Sorry I didn't use proper 'physics' terminology. I was hoping the words I did use would make enough sense. Maybe Pook's verbiage is better..."gravity feed pressure on the pump". And, I didn't put quotes around the words because I was just trying to convey the gist of what PSC said (from what I could remember of my conversation with Lance 2-3 months ago).
