Elbe Rock crawl and Rainier Vista

Pokey, I tried to PM you but you have a dirty box. Can you Unlock ChopShop from this thread? He's been helping out up there and makes a great crash test dummy for Horus's criminal mind. Also Char has some sweet vids to post.

I think that Mikes sami N Chop Shops Yota are very good test rigs they are your standard Elbe style rigs with low gears lockers and some armor perfect for testing the rocks great job guys.:awesomework:

That certainly does present an issue now. The budget is gone

At the very least, we may have to find someone with a tractor or mini to move the rocks out of the way or knock the pile down.

I will be up there June 11-13 for a club wheeling weekend and to help with the fun run. If worst comes to worst, I'll have to get Ralph out there again on the 11th. Anyone have a spare $800? We can get him out anytime but we need to pay him.

The lower section felt safe to me. We talked to all the other people that we saw run it and no one said they were scared. They were all happy to see it a little more challenging.

You were at the focus group meeting were you not. Nancy said that something has to be done about that section of trail. She said if their is room to make it a two lane trail for lack of better terms. The people i was with sunday all agreed that it is a high risk for rollovers and has no winch points. For those of us who "run" the trails feel its a unsafe area. Their is how ever plenty of room at the bottom for a big hill climb section with a legal bypass with winch points and a very low roll over factor,

I agree that it's a risky spot as it was only intended to be a temporary drop spot and would be worked last weekend. It's not Corey's rig that I'm worried about. It's someone without gobbs of flex, dual lockers and huge tires that think it's Rainier Vista as usual. If only everyone paid attention to the trail signs it wouldn't be a big issue, but we know how that goes. They're either going to try it or drive around it.

I agree, we can make a hard rock climb at the bottom and then build another on the left side at the top... The top can continue up on the flat, there's already two lines up there...

On the hill itself, the rocks would have to be really dug in and we would need to make it wider with two lines... Not actual bypasses, but make it like the way Yellow Jacket is right now with an easy line and a hard line...

I feel that if we build the bottom and top the hill will come into it's own with use...

The large loose rock on the hill right now creates an unsafe environment... My concern would be a rock rolling down the hill and hurting someone walking on the trail...

Or if the gatekeeper was done to keep the smaller unsafe unskilled drivers off . But right now folks can hit it at the bottom and cruze up the hill until the steepest section where they will eather hit the rocks N break or try N back down. Eather way unsafe N the person that placed the rocks their will be at fault..

The plan for the trail is already done with multiple obstacles of different types, some with bypasses some without. It's posted up at the top of page 43.

You may want to atleast listen to what Luey has to say. Not that what you have planed is bad. But he has a much better idea that would be safer easyer and wiser in the long run. It would be nice for uou to be open to input of others.

I agree. Since there is a large pile of boulders at the bottom, the old flat logging road would be a really good spot to place them on the trail and leave the long hill as it is, with a bonus line at the top left like everyone talked about at the focus meeting.
