as promised here ya go Crash.
build started as a dana 44 front axle built for our XJ. in the process of building the axle Joe offered up his YJ so he could get his buggie done. so a axle build turned into a much larger full Yj build.
after a couple hours in the garage with Joe this is what I started with

after Kyle (my son) got back from Iraq we started the build. first was the front axle and 4-link. was able to reuse the Shock hoops that Crash built just need new munts for the shocks

next we replaced the 5 speed with an AW4 auto and installed an Atlas 5:1 t-case. the crossmember was another Crash recycled part with some mods. had to clearance the floor some more and add a tunnel in drivers floor for driveshaft clearance.

next was getting the front brakes and steering done. found out that the knuckles we had wouldn't work so we bought reed knuckles

after getting brakes, steering seat mounts and a lot of little stuff done she was back on all fours

since the shakedown run we have added tie-ins between the front and rear crossmembers, added a front suckdown winch, OBA. will soon br adding the rear suckdown winch and a rock eguipment sway bar.

picked pick a rock equipment rear sway bar with the upgraded fab your own steel links. nice piece of equipment. only negitives so far is the kits didn't come with mounts for the frame and when we got the bar in the links were too close to the frame. so we modified the links. hope to have it in before the weekend. also got some masterpull rope for the suckdown winches

really nice build :awesomework: Just remember though that glass pack type mufflers arnt legal on FS lands. You have to have a spark arrestor of some sort with them or a non straight thru type muffler Hate to see people get tickets for such things :booo:

doesn't that Xmember get hung up on stuff? looks like it hangs down pretty low. Could just be the pictures.

the cross members are the lowest part on the jeep. had to be there to clear the atlas. havn't had any problem with it hanging up though. the links and skid between the two cross members act like one big slider.

cool, hate to see someones wheeling trip ruined for such a simple thing.

got the swaybar done and flexed the jeep on my bulkhead. there is way less body roll now.
