• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

Renovation of a YJ

Well, the parts gathering stage for Phase II is almost done and we are about to start swapping the tubs. When we got home today, the box with the new seats was sitting on the front porch. We ended up buying PRP Premiers with the integrated seat heaters. With my wife's Raynauds Syndrome, it is important that she keep warm while we are wheeling in the winter. As for me? I am just a wimp.

We will build our own seat bases and use stock sliders.

The jeep is loaded with parts right now. All the parts for the rear disc conversion are there as well as the two "new" fenders. The new body mounts are on the way as are a replacement gauge cluster. I also have mirror relocation brackets and mirrors on the way.

Oh, BTW, the mirrors showed up yesterday! :redneck:
What springs are you using?
The fronts I believe to be waggies (but not sure), they're longer than stock YJ's...the rears are a mix of S-10 mains and XJ's....

I delivered the Jeep back to Kevin on Friday afternoon and we started a bit of the dis-assembly. Right now the cage is gone as well as the passenger seat. Looks kind of naked. I will post pictures after next Friday.

We basically got the tub stripped and removed today.

Friggin' hilarious!!! :haha: Good day today....got most of the old junk stripped off, now to prep a few things for the new tub and get it fit on there...Then the fun begins grafting the engine harness (OBDII) to the YJ tub harness...
Oh, and near as I can tell, the motor is a '96...

Well, the "new" tub is sitting on the chassis.

Kev had to rebuild 6 body mounts. It appears that the PO of the tub ran a big body lift with the bolts loose.

had to rob (cut out) the mounts off the old tub, and graft them onto the black one after cutting out the fubared ones.......quite the project! Good thing is, every bolt is in and secured---the tub is bolted on!!! :cheer:

Lee said that the mirrors are so I can watch Oil Can flop when he is following me.

How did I miss this....:kissmybutt:

I have my pay back for her. I'm going to cut the wires to her heated seat.....muuuhahahahah!:haha::haha:

Got a lot done today. We re-assembled the front clip and mocked up the tube fenders. We cut and fitted the passenger side inner fender and tacked it to the tube.

Tomorrow we will continue on the driver's side.

Today doesn't look a lot different than yesterday, although we got a lot done. The fenders were finished and mounted. We also got the tailgate mounted.
