I picked up a 98 2500 dodge with a 12 valve cummins and auto tranny 337k miles. I know you are suposto be able to turn off the od by pushing the button on the end of the shifter. The problem I am having is it doesn't work. It doesn't turn the light on or anything. Any ideas on where to start?

Thanks:beer::beer:

O/D switch on the dash or shifter?

I know reading is hard and all but could you at least pretend to try? :flipoff:

I don't know if the light is burned out but I do know that it will shift into over drive and if I push the button it won't down shift. I didn't know if there was something commen that goes out.

ok ya my guess is going to just be the button on the shifter. but i would make sure you have power at one of the wires.

if the trans isnt up to temp it wont go into OD. heres the wiring pinout from the PCM,you can check the OD related wires and make sure they arent broke and ****.looks like the PCM controlls the switch..i know it may sound silly but unhook both batterys and clean the terminals...these trucks are picky with that for some reason... doing that has fixed a few for me..
