Dana 44 upgrade questions

I'm looking to upgrade my factory D44 in my TJ and was looking at this kit:

http://www.rustysoffroad.com/ten-factory-super-44-kit.html

Anyone ever run this kit or have any opinion on Ten Factory? Seems like a good price and comes with a Detroit or ARB locker.

TJ is my DD and I take her out occasionally. I'm running a 4inch long arm kit on 33's and don't plan on going any bigger than a 35.

Ten Factory are good shafts, I was really pleased with mine and they have a good warranty

That seems pretty fair on price. Plus a 33 spline44 would be plenty strong for up to 35"-37" tires.

The only odd thing, is 33 splined D44s are not common. So, if you break one, expect a wait while you order replacements. That goes for both the ARB and the axle shafts.

I broke a OEM shaft in Moab one year. Had a replacement the next day. And 30 spline, domestic chromoly shafts are plenty strong for most applications.

Remember, for decades the D60 had 30 splined shafts.

It's my opinion, that if you need 33 splines, you might as well put in a D60.

Thats crazy, 30 spline toyota shafts hold up to 40s easily.

maybe talk to the asains and see if they can make you some 5 lug toyota axles?

Or maybe just buy a toyota? The whole truck costs less than those funky shafts! :stirpot:

Moabs jeep country, I really don't seeing a problem getting a ten factory shaft warranted there.
Dana 60 with 33's Jesus he'd diff out on potholes on i5 :haha:

Rusty's must have stepped up their game. Their stuff was absolute **** When I ordered a bunch of their crap for my first ZJ. But that was a long time ago.

maybe this will help?

I have ten factory 30 spline rear shafts and have had one shaft replaced with just twisted splines,no question asked.

I have never yet busted a rear shaft. 35 tires, arb locker.
Have twisted a couple drivers side rears
