Steering Ram on Opposite Side of Axle

Hello

I watched the Momentum Buggy video and noticed the steering ram mounted on the inside of the axle (image below). Generally rams are mounted on the outside but recently I've seen a couple of buggies with them on the inside.

Several questions;

What advantages / disadvantages are there by mounting it on the inside?

Has anyone done this on a 14 bolt front or rear steer?

Interested in general feedback.

mostley protection you see it often just a pain for clearence issues with links ect

Your pinion would be in the way on a 14 bolt, unless you mounted it higher
Or lower which defeats the purpose. Usually you see it on rockwells, it just puts the ram in a protected spot and looks really clean.

Stock steering is behind the axle on a rockwell. Keeping it there preserves factory steering angles. It is also well protected there if is it is mounted above the lower links. Harder to package though.

We're puting one on the rear of a rockwell also, mainly cause the ol rotor on the front, but the protection is nice, which then leaves the rotor more vulnerable. But with the guard that TC built on front of those hybrids it should be pretty well protected. Just my two pennies.

Im gonna try and do the setup with the rotor on the backside also we'll see
