Ok so at morris saturday, i pulled up on a rock at top of copper head and didnt like tha way it was lookin so i back off for a diff angle and my tie rod took a ass ton of force.. He now looks super sad, it looks like a frown.. I had sleeved it and the tie rod is pretty dam beefy now,,, BUT i have a piece of tubing i know wont bend, My question is , is it a bad idea to put such a beefy tie rod on there?? I was wondering if the knuckles would take the hit then? I dam sure would rather make tie rod than replace knuckle. Thanks for advice! Gonna tru to post a pic. Oh also its a GM D60. Thanks again

I run 1.5 inch solid tube drilled and taped with 3/4 heilm joints instead of tie rod ends . Never had a problem but I run the solid knuckles .

Drill the holes out for regular bolts, and put Heims on it, and a thick bar, I've never had any problems like this even on Dana 44's

no reason not to do it.
I would not consider 1.5 solid "heavy duty." It bends easier than you might think.
High steer is a good idea. Just make sure you tie the arms to the knuckles or you will be posting about what type of aftermarket knuckle to purchase.

Dam thats a good deal. Good to hear from someone that runs them. Def gonna go high steer just have a few other things first... Fawkin gears :puke: **** blows. Hope they make a big difference, they dam sure better for tha cost.. Anyways thanks for tha advice fellas!!
Hey Highrolrcustoms, is it possible to adjust the height of the steering with that kit? Just curious... Thanks.
I was gonna redo it in a piece of sch 80, but im gonna just run to tha metal store in tha morning for some DOM. Again i really do appreachitae tha advice fellas.

You can either put tie rod on top or bottom of high steer arms. So there is a little height adjustment. The high steer arms are also drilled for a 5th stud incase you decide to upgrade to aftermarket knuckles later on.

Thanks for that link hirol....was looking at Artecs trying to decide which arm and which leg to send them.

I need to measure my wheel clearance first. Ive got a 16" with a good amount of backspacing.
