Anyone have a clue where to get parts for old winches. I have one that is the permanent magnet type and I need a new set of brushes, I think. Can't get the motor to do anything. Even put jumper cables on the lugs and nothing just shorts out the battery. Mile Markers site doesn't even show these motors.

Sometimes if you read the stamped model numbers or serial numbers on individual parts you can google search those numbers in different variations and come up with someone who supplies them. Key word....sometimes

I'd take it to a local rotating electrical rebuilder and let them find some, if you are lucky enough to have a good one close by.

If you put jumper cables to the IN and OUT posts, the motor is probably fried. To test, I think you should go to frame ground and one one post (IN or OUT).

My Warn works like that but this one only has 2 lugs and using the control box it just reverses polarity that's why I tired jumper cables.

What winch model?

That's the million dollar question since mile marker doesn't like to put any kind of label on them. I'll post up some pics later but googling it looks like a PE8000 or E9000. The lugs are on the end not the side which is a bit strange.

Here's what it looks like.

I have a "Chicago electric" brand winch that looks almost identical. Mine is a 8k also. If you cannot find any info from MM try chicago electric. Only reason I have the CE is the price.

I had an E8000 mm motor burnt up order new motor a pe6000 or pe8000 used same motor p/n 76-50140-07 was the one they sent me it was a lil bigger but it worked.hope this helps.
