Dammit, Is Jose tryin me up with a scam? What are your thoughts???

Please look at this text I have been sent, from good ole "Jose" , that's VERY interested in purchasing something I have on craigslist, of course he has no problem paying what I'm asking.. Okay we all know it sounds like a bullshit scam.. But this is a first for me from a actual telephone number, usually email. Check it out. what are your thoughts? And how could he scam someone like this? Or does the story change? I'm thinking about leading him on if it is a scam. And shipping a bag of **** to him. I'm sorry A box of ****, or maybe A possum off the side of the road. Haha. All I know is can text a number but can't send pictures. And I could be wrong. But that's very rare. Haha. Kiddin

Just got these.. How could a scam me if he's willing to send me money PayPal? I'm not giving him my PayPal address to someone gives me some advice.. I doubt he could do anything with it, but with my luck, hell no!! It's hard not to cause I need that 2500 buks. But who in the world just sends a text, ask no questions, other than "why are u selling it" and then Instantly text me back wanting my PayPal information to send me money or may send him a money request??!!? Help me Rhonda!!! Sheesh.

That's tough. Like you, first thought is scam. Then he agrees to paypal which is odd. How long does it take to set up a NEW paypal account? Maybe set up a different one under your wifes name?? Like a 1 time use only thing. Or maybe just have him send a money order.

These scammers these days are slick. He may get your paypal e-mail and some how be able to hack some ****. I'd be really careful boss man.

It is a scam. I have had very similar emails sent to me about stuff I was selling on craigslist.

Dang it. I was wondering WWJGD? (What would John G do?). Seems to have experience or a very educated answer for most things.

Just tell him you will only accept dead presidents, paper or real. See what his response it. Of course it IS a scam. Or tell him he has to sweeten the pot if paying with PayPal, Does he have a goat and a wife to trade.

SCAM had he same crap months ago I told them cash face to face or no deal, did not here back

If they pay with paypal they can then turn around and file a claim and get the money back even if you've already shipped the item and the money has cleared. Paypal will just take it right back out of your account. Had this happen to me a few years ago before all this scamming was common place. I ended up out my parts and money.

So if I give him my PayPal let him deposit the money and then close my bank account what happens? oh and still ship the bag of ****. thanks for the help. I figured scam but had never heard of anyone get screwed using PayPal. Sorry asses. Wish I could ship myself to him and soon as he opened the box spray him with mace and then do work. Guaranteed last time he ever did it. Thing is, I guarantee the police would do nothing about it, so I guess they just keep getting away with it?? horse ****.

I get one of these text almost everyday from these ass hats. I say some pretty mean **** to them and they never text back.

Had the exact same thing awhile back while trying to sell a Cherokee. Almost word for word the same conversation when I replied to texts. Responses didn't fully match what I responded about.

I got a text the other day about the same thing but wanted to sell me a welder . couldn't figure out how he new I was hunting a new miller bobcat but was interested when he priced it at 1300 but he then says he on military base so I can't text him back and I need to send him my amail address and zip code and he will pay shipping and send it to me then I can pay him lol so I asked what physical address he was sending to if he only wAnted email and zip
return was he would send it through eBay to me they would have my address on file so at this point I'm really laughing so I aak how I was gonna pay him this is where he make the mistake he tells me once I gave it he will collect from my paypal
