CHEVY DANA 60 drive flange question

Installed 35 spline outers last night and switched to flanges. What am I missing? There is no way the snap ring can go onto the stub shaft. It was included in the package though, so maybe I am missing something obvious. There is a large ring that goes in after the slug, then the big snap ring. I cannot figure out this little clip though.

try pushing the stub shaft out at the knuckle!

Pry the stub from inside the C outwards and tap the slug in a bit.
I've had some that fit the clip and some that don't.

Unwind it like a spring and start one end into slot. Walk it around and it will go right in.

I have Yukon shafts and solid flanges. Neither came with a snap ring although the stub is grooved for one. I was thinking about finding my own but was told it's not that important.

I tried pulling stub. Didn't pry though. I'll try that. I read some ppl use them, some Dont.

Ran ours for 4 years without it...warn slugs, yukon shafts, 35 spline.

If you installed the rubber seal/ wiper on the stub shaft the snap ring keeps it pulled tight so no mud or grit can easily get in!

I did install those.

I will try to pry them out like suggested. It was late last night and I was getting pretty pissed. I will probably go home tonight, grab the stub by hand, and it will pull right out. That is how it usually goes when I walk away and then come back to something like this.

Then, I will have wasted everyone's time. Oh well, we are probably all at work with nothing else to do anyway.
