which o ring and how does it work do you have any pics?

I don't remember the part number. Just measure the diameter of the joint and the gap between the cap and the joint. Look in the o-ring section of McMaster Carr and find the one that you need. Install all of them and your done with needing boots. Works perfect and will give you years of service. Always has for us.

I don't doubt what you're saying and it has me contemplating doing it, too. But you do know that the kingpins and spindle are not sealed and therefore the hub also, right? Maybe there's just so little space for crap to get in through that it doesn't matter. You're not the first to tell me they don't run boots.

Let's see your pinion brake guards. Anybody have one and still manage to brake the rotor? What material is your made out of?

The da situation buggy shattered a rotor a long time ago on bunny slope 2 there is a video somewhere it only had a small kind of rolled v coming up part of the way but hit the ledge above the guard so it didn't help any!

It took eme a couple years and different designs to finally end up on something I liked. I'll try to get some pics later this week.

No, mine stay tight. I don't use lock washers or any washers for that matter. I use red loctite and that's it. Draggbody once told me his theory as to why lock washer don't help and only hurt. I've since started agreeing with him. I don't use them on anything any more.

I generally will spray the bolt holes out with some break cleaner and dry them out really good with an air gun to give the loctite a good clean bore to work in.
