So I'm new to the coilovers game and probably jumped way in over my head, I need my front 2 coilovers set up, someone in the north alabama area I can carry it to drop it off, and pick it up. Ther. FOA 12" C/O it Rides like **** an I can't handle it. Would not be in a big hurry on it. Thanks in Advance

Talk to FOA about what its doing and get them to send you some shim packs, they are really easy to revalve

Don't think it's the valving, but may be, there new and I just got done building this XJ, so they were pretty much bolted up, set my ride height and have not touched it, still needs pre load and everything set up . May needs springs swapped also I don't know enough about it to try myself and screw it up worse

I bet you could get it to your liking with the correct springs. Do you have any interest in sharing the current spring rates and setup? Maybe some pics?

Not at all, it's pretty much a stock XJ 4.0 Aw4 with a HP 44 front. there 12" FOA's running 5" up travel. Spring rates are, 12"200 over . 14" 250, 150 psi in both coilovers. I'll post the only pictures I have on my phone

That's a ton of spring. I think 150/200 would be a huge improvement.

Yes, radius arm it just seems stiff, kinda like it's not giving much or it's rebounding to fast maybe?

Sounds like way too much spring, stock xj spring rates are in the 120 lb range.

Is your panhard bar at a really steep angle?

Well I thought it was to but, everyone up till now says on the shorter 12" C/O will be stiffer for some reason including the guys at FOA, but I will give that at shot swapping springs and it's kinda steep but not really bad, it's one thing I'm gonna re do, put a bend in it to get it A Little more horizontal with the axle

A bend won't do anything.

You need to build a taller axle side mount and a longer frame mount so the bar is flatter.

Your axle has to move sideways a massive amount when you hit a bump for the suspension to compress... And those ford radius arm bushings don't like to move that way

Maybe I just can't see it, but are there sliders and stop rings on it and are they in the right spot? If not, your spring rates are just adding up to one weight rating. :dunno:

Exactly this.

I used ruff stuff with my 3 linked tacoma. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/PANKIT.html
