Does color really matter?

For your rig.
As far as color goes here is my opinion. Not that it matters. If it was a show car I would do a "soft" color. Like candy apple red or dark grey something that looks "classy". However these rigs, at least in my opinion, are not show vehicles. They are show-off vehicles. At least in my case it is. It is a big ol' :flipper: to everyone, that I took the time to build what I wanted and didn't settle for a half ass rig. It is a "look at me" loud, in your face, I'm going to make it or put on a hell of a show trying. So I choose a bright color. If I could have found a cheap bright green that didn't look like baby poop that would have been my color. Maybe I'll get tired of it and choose something else, eventually.

I like colors that contrast well with others. For instance, I am a huge red on black fan. Most of my daily drivers, my last rig, 3 motorcycles I've owned, and now the new Polaris - all red and black. I just think red and black contrast well and looks badass. Like TC's old buggy Showtime.

for me it's a matter of showing personality. I'm a black and yellow kinda person (stems from being a steelers fan).

As much as KMCMINN hates this....I am whatever paint is closest and/or cheapest. I have a Red Buggy with some black paint getting mixed in and grey over anything that has been recently welded. My personality definitely shows in everything that I drive. I am not a big fan of rust, so I try and keep a little paint on all places that make it to bare metal. Other than that, to each his own.

Did I miss it somewhere else or did you just come out of the closet in this thread??? I knew you were looking at them, but didn't know you pulled the trigger. What did you get???

Also, to stay relevant to the topic, cheap is a powerful drug, so that's what color I like. I am also a fan of red and black which is how my first TJ was and how I am doing my current one, but my Gayzer is a bright green and black because it was cheap. I had a TJ that was sublime green from an '07 dodge Daytona charger. It was before jeep released the GayK in gecko green so mine was "different" and got comments regularly.

Hey now I just prefer white.

I like softer darker stuff and earth colored tones, etc... The real bright stuff is not my thing. Silver would be about as flashy as I get. Maybe silver and blue. They go together.

I saw a copper colored buggy one time mixed with like brown or something. Both dark and not real flashy. It was nice.

Mighta been on here. I think it was an F-Toy IIRC.

I'm leaning toward yes. Haven't really given it much thought, going to pick up the po-po tomorrow. :driving:

Im all for the flashy colors or tubing and sliders but i like my rigs flat black, as far as my personal vehicles my superduty and my expedition are both two tone green and tan. Really like a two tone vehicle

Red, Black and Chrome. 90% of everything I own are these colors. It can be gloss black or flat black but the red has to be fire engine red.

My new buggy is gonna be the green on the new Camaro or as close as I can get it in powder coat. Buggies need to be flashy in my opinion. However that's just an opinion. Green is my favorite color and I love that damn candy looking green. Can't wait. I'm on a mission to get it mechanically done before the hardline ride and at the hardline ride. I want it 100% done by my birthday. 4/20. Me and Adolf would be happy for our birthday.

Get a color that you can touch up easily. Off colors are not easily reproduced in a spray can. Like said already, red, black, chrome all good.

What is the norm for peeps that scratch the crap out of their powder coat often, because it will pretty much happen to anybody that wheels? Find a can of paint that best matches or...?

your powder coater should have matching colors for you in spray can or brushable or at least that's the route I went. Just sucks that you can't mail paint
