Anyone Live near Lueders, TX?

I have found a motorhome that I would like to purchase and the price seems to good to be true. Abilene seems to be the closest town of any size that I see near it. The vehicle in question is a RevCon and it is one of my top three motorhomes I would ever like to own right there with Travco and the GMC's of the 70's.

If someone is available, I would just like a couple pictures and to see if it is in fact road worthy. Nothing worse than flying in, getting to the vehicle and turning around and flying home. I have paid for independent vehicle inspections in the past, but not on an RV. i am not even certain how that would go. I could also toss someone a few bucks if it is a hassle or out of the way. Its just 14 hours from my present location and I can't exactly hop on the freeway and be there by dinner.

Any help is appreciated thumb.gif

I was in Brownwood last weekend, and I think thats still an hour away from that place. But no current plans to return the 5 hours back up that way.

So check this out. I need an OEM bone stock 231 tcase out of an 01 or later wrangler or XJ.

I'm about 4.5 hrs from there I'd gladly work a trade if you got one or can send me one. :) ?

I was in Abilene earlier this week. Going back out the first week of February. If its still there then I'd be happy to take a look at it for you.

885 miles each way. I would not even consider this trip if it wasn't my number one of all time motorhomes, 5k less than I have ever seen one in running/driving condition. I just talked with the owner, named Guy. I asked a million questions and he was cool enough to answer all of them. He even tried to describe how the bumper comes out to carry bicycles or a motorcycle. I have only seen one in person and less than ten or so online at any given point. Most of them stay considerably out of my price range and rightfully so. This particular guy seems legit or I wouldn't even consider the trip in the first place.

If I don't head out on Sunday, I will talk about trying to get someone out there to take a look. I am hoping to pick this up, because I have dreamed about this particular type of motorhome for years...probably since before 2005.

yep. They are actually pretty cool. started building them in 1968 I think. they are based off an Oldsmobile Toronado front end.

Just under 400 hp....385 to the front wheels. 98mph top speed :driving: In all seriousness, probably closer to 300 from factory. Might be 250hp in its current state.

Got to figure out if I am flying in or driving out and hauling something back. Either way, I am going to be a proud owner of my dream coach. Excited is not even the half of it.

Dang Kel, don't you have enough stuff to work on all ready? :****:

I am down to 4 projects and technically, 2 of them run. If I get down to 1 project, I may explode. Besides, this is almost not even a project. Except for the ignition system, fuel, transaxle, carb, electrics/generator and the plumbing ::)

That coach is list in about 3-4 different places in Tx from $5000 down to $3000. Whats the deal with that?

Bought the ticket and headed to Abilene on Wednesday. Hopefully be back to AL by Thursday morning. Keep check of the thread, due to the limited tools I can bring with me. I am working on getting a spare before I head out on this adventure.

The guy had/has it listed in about 9 different places. Thats part of the reason I am interested. Found different shots of different areas of the coach through each one of the ads. $3000 is where he is and is pretty firm. I've never seen one of these in this good of shape, for so little cash. Guy is pretty cool too. Drove 2.5 hours each way today to make sure the battery is charged, checking air pressure in tires and oil/coolant levels. He is also picking me up from the airport in Abilene.
