How is your HP efi set up? What all sensors are you running on the engine to get your inputs? What ignition set up?

it has multiport Victor jr manifold 1000cfm tb with PWM iac
runs sequential
48lbs holley injectors
holley 60-2 crank trigger
msd pro billet with diy cam sync sensor
msd 6al
still run plug wires from dist.
cop is just plug and play if i ever need to upgrade
rest of the sensor are just common
tps
cts
mat
map
bosch wideband o2

Good luck with FAST... That's what in my buggy.... We have been constantly tuning on it.... I carry my hand held tuner on every ride..... I called Lane Culver and told him I didn't care what it cost to please help me.... He informed me that he was going to do the same thing we do.... Tune from the passenger seat... FAST has very limited parameters to tune.... IMO it SUCKS..... I would not recommend the system for anything other than street use....

Re:

Street cruising and highway driving old cars is really the intended use for those bolt on throttle body systems (plus full exhaust)

Purely from a controls design stand point, they just don't have enough inputs to properly control a fairly hot engine in a rock crawler.

Think of em as an old gm TBI system with a easier programmable computer.

What exact system are you running? I have the ez efi 2.0 and have had troubles with it since day one. I have adjusted settings on the handheld but really there is no tuning for this system. I have learned a few things so I'll try and help. The system will run rich at idle until it gets to about 150*. Mine gets so bad you can't stand to be around it, especially on a cold day! Play with the IAC setting, this seemed to help but wasn't a drastic change. What I did figure out was all the sensors that come with the kit are junk! we cross referenced all part numbers and replaced every sensor with ones from local parts store. Again this seemed to help. The biggest problem with mine was and still is the 02 sensor. First it was my headers being to short. They were causing the 02 sensor to get a false reading. I extended the headers to what they recommended and it would actually run decent! They recommend a placing the 02 sensor at least 4" downstream from the collector and 21" upstream from exhaust tip. Also check and make sure there are no cracks in the exhaust. a leak anywhere in between those measurements will cause a false reading. Another learning curve was fuel choice. The leaded race fuel I was using was killing the 02 sensors, thus causing the system to go into "panic mode." I changed the fuel to a unleaded race fuel and so far it's been doing good. All in all the system is decent but it's just not set up for what we use it for, it's just too sensitive! The best advice I can give is llet your eyes and nose be the judge! Hope this helps some of you guys out.

ED Bendall is the only one that seems overall happy with it..... However he carried his rig to Memphis and made them tune it.... I agree Jamie, we are currently swapping out sensors as well..

Not to derail, but, has anyone tried the fi tech kits? They have pretty good reviews and cost about the third of any other kit on the market.

Well guys If anybody is interested, I fixed my fast EZ efi system. Changed brands of 02 censor. The kit came with a bosh so I kept buying that brand. I had three. This time I went with a kdm or KTM brand and BAM!! Fixed it. Reach in, hit the start button, wow. Perfect. No gas smelly cloths after a ride now. Can't wait to go riding again.

That's some good info. Thanks. You wouldn't happen to know the part number, would you? :eat:

I'm in Florida (in this freaking hurricane) now. When I get back this weekend I'll post it. I've been driving this sob like this for three years. It's fantastic now!!

Dang, be careful. Take tour time. I will try to research it a little. Trying to get poolman's buggy lined out and i think that might be the idling problem. My mom and dad live in Winter Haven,FL and he is stubborn and refuses to leave. Worries me to death sometimes.

Here it is

Definitely gonna try this on a fast system I installed for a customer of mine. Put it on a brand new crate 350 and it just has never performed the way both of us thought it should've...and of course it makes me look like I did something wrong but installed it to a T! Thanks a lot for posting this!

I'm gonna try the same thing on my Holley terminator

if you do
use holley ntk one they have sensors calibrated with resistors in the sensor wiring. and make sure you change sensor type in program

My update. I've been to Harlan the last 2 weekends in a row. First weekend with the Bosch second with the NTK. It definitely ran better with the NTK, not as rich as before but it did act up twice for about 5,10 minutes, both times coming down the mountain. Maybe it's the elevation change????
