I'm going to upgrade in the next week or so...I've narrowed my choices to the Swamper TSL (38x12x15 bias) and the IROK(36x13x15 bias.) Primary use is trails, rocks, sand, mud...both wet and dry...the truck sees little street use...to and from runs and such but usually trailered.

I've heard the IROKs run true to size and the TSLs run a bit smaller than advertised...hence my size choices, your opinions/experiences? The new tires will be replacing an almost new set of 37x14.5x15 Toyo MTs .

One last question, I'll be mounting these on new beadlocks,,,8" or 10"?

Here's the rig in question

Thanks for your input.

Thanks for the input! Wanna expound a bit?:D

I've run both...38" TSL's and 39.5 IROKS, both bias ply.

The IROKS work sweet when new and they have clean sharp edges.

The TSL's, once you take a groover to the center lugs, have great sidewall flex, stay on the beads at 4psi and work everywhere until they are bald and have been re-groovede at least twice.

So, in your experience, the TSLs on non beadlocked wheels can be run in the single digits?

J

No...running single digits on any tire w/o beadlocks ain't cool.

When I say stay on the beads at 4psi I'm talking about the innner bead of a outer bead locked rim.

Definately get a groover, I got one from Randy's Racemart and ended up spending more on heads and blades than the 60 dollar groover. Also, why do you not like the Toyos? They are great on my pavement pounder.... same size you got, what did u pay for them if u dont mind me asking?

38.5 SX Swampers. On Marsh Racing 15x10" BL's. They measure just under 38" tall. Prior to that I was running 42" swampers. I cant say that I've wheeled much with them, but they have a great rep..

38x12.50x15 on 8".

I love mine ive been running 6 psi and haven't lost a bead yet. I'm sure the time will come though, So I would go with the beadlocks If you can it will give you about a 9" rim.

Just bought a brand new set of 38.5" sx's, the old set were old and abused when i bought them. I have also had 2 sets of 36" sx's prior to these.

This is what I have been wheeling on all of last year and it still hasn't died. Its survived the hammers, moab and countless local trails. Previous owner had grooved them and I believe street drove with no air in them causing the one to seperate. Looked good when I bought but it ripped a lug off the first day I got to the hammers and kept peeling the rubber off. Its still holding air.
