Thsi thread should probably include flaming for my thoughts here, as they are always odd and weird.

anyways. I'm going to be getting new tires (36-38") for the s-10. I'm also thinking about using it to tow my other truck with when it gets done. should i just get my "trail tires" and pick up a set of harder compound 35" tires for towing? or go with something in between. I'm trying to find a tire that i know will last a few years (approx. 2 yrs is all i expect) I had thought of a 38x12.5 SX's but not sure if they're a good compound with BB's in them to run on the road. I guess i'm maybe looking for some real world experience with something similar to this. cus i have no problem picking up a set of tires for towing purposes only. I just don't have the room for another vehicle but i do for an extra set of tires:redneck:

I towed with my wheeler for the first time a couple days ago. Made some dump runs. It pretty much sucked. :looser:

Maybe your S-10 is setup better than mine though. :cheer:

You got the wacky part right...but seem to be lacking with "thought" portion :haha:

i would have it on a trailer... I'm just going off that fact a friend of mine towed this thing back with his toyota 4cyl and 4.88 gears.... like i said jsut a thought.

"not thinking" aloud again. really what's the difference between like crash's old chevy and my s-10, aside from lift and larger tires. The weight is garaunteed almost the same (his being a bit heavier).

What motor, tranny, axle and brake setup do you have in the S10?

What is the combined weight of the trailer and wheeling rig that will be on it?

Comparing an S-10 to a 3/4 ton Chev.??? Um....... :haha:

It'll be while before I actually even THINK about towing with it, I just thought if I HAD to i;d be able to but I have a Chevy 350TBI (ex-cop car motor) 700R4 and np207 t-case(prolly will get changed out eventually. Ford 9" rear with drums right now( convert to disc later this summer) As far as the weight of trailer and rig, that has yet to be determined. no trailer yet(still unsure of which style/type I want, plus space is limited right now). The truck is going to be heavy for sure (shortened sub. chassis w/ fullsize axles, LUV body and what's left of a bed) so combine will more than likely be 1-1500lbs more than my truck i'm guessing.

You won't be happy towing with a wheeler it just sucks everything about a wheeler makes it suck towing. i.e. tire sway, spring rates, braking capabilities, wind resistance---the list can go on and on. If you just want to go to rieter go for it, just go slow. I've tried your route and now I have a 4 door dually and 24 ft trailer never go back to a small tow rig again.

Trust me if i had the room I'd have already bought a tow rig and trailer, but i don't:booo: So i'm trying to make due with what i have. I've thought of making some funky huge fenders for the LUV but i'm not sure i want to drive to naches or someplace like that, with my "extreme" wheeler

I don't think I would tow that far with your s-10 just doesn't sound like any fun or safe.

The trailer of mine fits 2 rigs for a small fee I'd tow over on certain weekends.:D :D :D --------------------------that is of course if Penny doesn't go:eeek: :eeek:

ya, i don't want to tow with it that far for sure, but to reiter sure. I do have my dad's f250 I have access to, I was jsut throwing out the idea, I knew it wasn't going to fly I just wanted to hear maybe some numbers as to why (i.e. weight ratios, braking setup, etc.)

What's a small fee??? I only do lap dances on tuesday/thursday nights:fawkdancesmiley:

Not really weight ratio problem as long as its on a trailer with brakes bbbut the wheelbase doesn't work well-longer is better, less sidewall is better, springs are too soft(typically), just my $.02

NO LAP DANCES FROM YOU!!!

My s-10 is 125" long, IF i were to do it, I'd run a smaller tire (34-35") with a harder compound and an overload spring and maybe bags.

Now why would it be som much better to tow with like crash's green truck than mine?
