Let's see where and how folks mount their High Lifts. In this case, I took the 7" raised mount from the previous thread - which was intended to be front-bumper mounted (On the TOP) and used it behind the passenger seat. How do other folks mount their jack - show us using pictures :corn:

Thank you - the points about damage, weather exposure, dirt and crap messing up the mechanisims were most helpful in that prior thread. Least helpful was the use of the "gay flag" in reference to jack location. My feeling, if you're going to use the "gay flag" icon, save it for something that deserves it. Use it sparingly :) Anywhoo - pictures ;)

Looks nice cept the passenger in the right rear might get part of it dug into their shoulder?????

Great question - I actually had my son lean back into the seat a little bit when I positioned it. I just kept sliding it back until it was not a problem for him.. The jack sits back about an inch or so from the very edge, so with luck by the time they are big enough to make it a problem I'll have a larger ride for the 'fam and take the backseat out of the Jeep!

However, if it becomes a problem, I'll cut the tops off the towers (attachment points) and weld them back onto the sides :awesomework:, that way the jack is still inside but it's mounted top-to-bottom and not front-to-back.

mounted mine to my bed rail using a hi lift mount made for the front bumper of a jeep used 8 grade 8 bolts and some rubber on both sides to help with vibration.

I built a custom mount for the bed of my fj40, uses the holes in the base, then mounts to the roll bar:

I put it on the hood and LOVE IT! i used to have it across the back behind the seat, but it sucked when i took the seat out and loaded it with gear. Most people dont like it on the outside of their rig because of mud gunk and wear. I have had it there for almost a year and it still works just as good as the first day i had it (and i end up using it quite a bit :looser: ). If it is gunked with mud i just poor a little water on it and give it a quick shot of wd40 before i use it. I havent had a problem yet and it seems to be wearing the same as other peoples'. Its really nice not even thinking about it til you need it and definitely frees up cab space! :awesomework:

I've got a softop on mine, seems to be okay. I think the only downside is that it's a little close to the passenger seat. I'm thinking about moving to my rear tire carrier.

Here's a quick pick of where mine is. All I did was weld an 'L' bracket made from 1/2" roundstock on the passenger side tube behind the seat; and a straight piece on the dr side up at an angle to kinda hold it in place--and for now it's bungied to the crosstube; eventual plan is to make up some sort of clasp for each end...

In the bed of my Comanche made my own mount. Pulled out the tail light installed a 1/2 bolt for the base to sit on. Then made a front clamping mechanism with a 1/2 bolt drilled for a lock.
