    Recommendation for West Coast Differentials

I was looking for an outlet that could send me an ARB air locker and associated items at the lowest cost. ARB had recommended West Coast Differentials as one of their higher volume retailers. Wow! Their pricing was significantly lower than everyone else on the unit I needed and they sent the...

    Enclosed trailers - need input

I was thinking about buying an open deck car trailer but when I started looking at the enclosed trailers, I became quite interested in them due to their versatility and weather protection. I called Olympic Trailers in Olympia as they had a ton of ads on Craigslist. For an 18 foot enclosed...

Who can cut me some brake rotors?

I've got the below rotors for my Spider9 front axle but after wheeling with a few guys up in Canada that have the same, I'm not sure I'll be able to stand all the squealing/squeaking caused by these getting wet/dirty. Terry

Any benefit from running IROK's backward?

Just curious if anyone had tried this. I was thinking that maybe putting the fronts backward might provide more "grab" due to the lug design but maybe it's negligible. Any input welcome... Terry

Best online sources for RC parts

I've been spending a pretty good amount of dough at brick 'n' mortar shops like HobbyTown and RCH but was wondering if there were a few online sources that come HIGHLY recommended for service, selection and price. Post up! Thank you, Terry (redirect me if this has already been posted)

    Front and rear weighting

Just curious if anyone has figured out a fairly consistent weight ratio for the front and rear axles. I've currently got the ProLine weighted wheels in the front and no weight other than a lipo battery pack on the rear axle. Any suggestions for ratios?

Adding an additional fuel supply fitting

Currently my fuel cell has the fuel supply line coming off the right side and it's probably an 1" or so off the bottom. Unfortunately, when my buggy is leaning hard to the driver side, the fuel of course shifts away from that supply opening. I'm thinking that adding a supply opening (bulkhead...

Route yer taking from WA to KOH

Of course one can Mapquest the route and be in fairly good shape but I know when I was reading through some of the threads on Pirate4x4, it seemed like there were certain areas to avoid if possible. Anyone have some input on this matter? How are you heading down there? Terry

ORV registration for WA residents in CA

I'm primarily concerned about my buggy being legit and yes, I've read through the pages and pages of discussion on Pirate4x4 For those of you who have been down there before, was your WA state ORV registration and tags sufficient? Or did you get the non-resident tags from CA as well? If CA...

I've got Fox 14" air shocks in the front of my tube chassis buggy. They come from the factory with 200 psi (nitrogen) and 340cc of shock oil. My frontish sprung weight (besides the tube chassis) consists of a Warn m8000, 24"x19" alum radiator, 1989 Chevy 4.3 v6 (w/o AC) and 700r4. The front...

Cutting aluminum cleanly with basic tools

So... in the effort to get my hydro reservoir high enough to properly gravity feed my steering pump, it sticks up higher than the hood profile. The hood is made of 6061 aluminum and I need to make a fairly large hole to accomodate the reservoir What specific tool do you recommend to make the...

    PSC load-reacting/return to center orbital

After my last trip to Reiter when my full hydraulic steering control completely disappeared and sent me off the road and over the side of the hill, I purchased some new parts thinking there may have been a few components and layout issues that could have contributed to my roll. I've got a brand...

    Adjusting idle speed on '89 4.3 v6 (pre-Vortec)

I was noticing after I installed a little tach that my motor at idle seems to hover around 500-550 rpm. Does anyone know whether that is correct? It seems like most vehicles tend idle around 650-750. Is it possible to adjust the idle via the ECU on this vehicle using the OBD harness? I'm...

    Valve lash adjustment - 4.3 v6
