Looks like they said good enough about that exhaust that burnt a hole in the side of their truck too. :)
I have no idea if the exhaust did that but thought it was funny.
Ed is the man. However, after his lung replacement last year I think he might be retired even though I know he has stopped in from time to time to say hello. They have other good folks there that worked with him.
It depends on who you ask and your purpose. TCI and some other transmission companies will say from the pan. I think Ed at PTC told me this too. B&M will say return after the cooler. Others say pressure line before the cooler.
If I was drag racing on a trans brake I would do the pressure line...
My understanding was that hot fluid from the converter goes to the output to the cooler and also directly to the pan. So if that is true you would know regardless of your cooler size. I have heard that if the temp from the converter is much hotter than people think and the oil really doesn't...
Got ya. I'm sure they are both good. I definitely don't regret the cold fire. I like the ability to recharge and re fill it. I know I wouldn't change the other kind out after 5 years like you are supposed to.
I have always heard that's not a good reading. Flash temp from the converter and other factors are involved. Definitely better than not having a gauge but I think the pan will give you the best feedback on that trans.
Thinking back, i bought a weld in bung but tapped mine instead since the...
Dillon,
Do you like the Cold Fire kit any better than the Safecraft? I got the 2 liter Cold Fire kit and I thought Ray did as well from the guy Gregg knows. Just curious since you might have experience with both. I have two nozzles but would have liked to have one in the trans tunnel as well. I...
There is almost always mud at punisher.
We went a few weeks agoand it have been too long since we had been to Morris. Good time. Load more videos if you have them.
He worked on it more than he posted. He even drew up a cheaper simplified version in CAD I had an idea on. Basically a premium and simple version.
Being able to use a non custom part for something like a stub that is often the fuse is a good thing.
I'm pretty sure some folks have just welded 60 spiders in place of the 14 bolt ones with a little alignment and a lot of welding to Lincoln lock it.
I remember when the Tanners used to snap 35 spline RCVs like crazy. I saw 3 go at once on a hill. Bobby had a front HP 60 that took major abuse...
If re-using the stock shafts you could weld the stock spiders in the carrier really good instead of a spool to save some money. Could make it plenty strong for stock shafts.
I probably wouldn't do it for something like 35 spline Branik 1550 stuff though.
Not sure i see the need to go 14bolt...
I was going to say basically the same. What is your goal with strength? I'm guessing pretty stout if you are thinking a high pinion Ford 60 ring and pinion won't cut it up front.
What I was going to do is put the big Super 60 F450/550 outers on with standard 05+ unit bearings replacing the 10...
I had read about that before too.
We had a big problem with them at work. They were chewing fenders and running boards bad. People complained a lot and there started being less squirrels. I think they trapped them.
