    Sold/Expired 1999 f250 extended cab diesel 4x4 $6500

Helping a buddy sell his truck he's owned for 10 years. decent maintenance over the years but needs a few things now. Tires worn, cracked windshield, crusty interior, brakes pull(comes with new parts) body is straight, recent front end ball joints. 230k miles. He's busy and doesn't want to deal...

To auto or not to auto

This happened a while back and from what I remember, the engine died so the rig lost its brakes. A good purely hydraulic brake system will apply the same amount of brake force as one with power brakes.

    9K winches

In some cases it might not be a true comparison if the winch was made a while back when comparing to todays new on the shelf. Manufacturers are constantly changing parts and parts suppliers from year to year as well as introducing new models and discounting old ones. I know for example around...

To auto or not to auto

If I had a rig and put an auto in it, I'd also want to make sure it had non power brakes. The idea of being on top of a crazy steep obstacle with an auto and power brakes and having the engine die / run out of gas whatever. At least with a manual you could leave it in gear and brake with the...

    Wheeler only parking

I'm not sure where you get these but I bet they're inexpensive to free the closer you get to the source. http://www.repurposedmaterialsinc.com/advertising-billboard-vinyl-tarp.php http://billboardtarps.com/

    Actually rocking Thornbirds?

He He you all jest :D I'm pretty sure there's someone that would like to cut the fenders out on their Nissan crack finder and run the thornbirds whilst cranking the metal. Trust me, I've been to the swapmeet :D

    Actually rocking Thornbirds?

If you have both sets, and 33's fit your rig, I'd sell them both and buy a decent set of 33's.

    Boats, & Hydrofoil attatchment

These can solve some issues but not advantageous on all applications. One thing this wing does is act similar to a trim tab if you have power tilt. It will allow you to adjust the attitude of the nose of the boat while on plane a little more than you can with the outboard or outdrive cavitation...

    Biggest tire on toy axles.

Yep. Between the pinion flange and the 4.7's the forces will be big.

    Tire pressure and tread wear???

I think the takeaway here is that there's probably a sweet spot for heat and wear and 35lbs may be it for his set up but its not a universal across the board setting.

    Tire pressure and tread wear???

LOL! Eyeballs is what I use. You'd think tire stores would offer this tool as an extra service up charge. Oh wait... over inflation sells more tires. Thanks LeSchnaab.

    Tire pressure and tread wear???

The chalk n dust technique as well as driving a dirty tire across a piece of paper might get you in the ball park but if you really want even pressure use one of these. http://www.tekscan.com/industrial/tirescan-system.html

    SAS.....clunk...bang....

    Did you figure this out?

    SAS.....clunk...bang....

You did the SAS and then then started hearing the noise. Did you do anything else at the same time. Possibly rear lift, locker anything else? The front end work looks clean. From your description it sounds like a pretty significant interference and since you cant feel it in the wheel, had no...

    SAS.....clunk...bang....

Can you describe the noise better. So far is sounds like when you turn either direction from straight you hear a clunk clunk and can feel mechanical energy transferred through the body at the floor board. Is it always two clunks? Does the time interval between clunks change depending on how...

    Frame mount or bed mount?

I've had both and didn't notice a huge difference between the two for normal use, although I'd say the frame mounted system is heavier duty. I also creep it when its off the pavement.

    Traxxas Summit

Hey Jay, Looks like fun. I havent owned that particular model but traxxas has pretty good warranty, tech support and after market product support. The one I saw on the web is ready to run out of the box, not sure if it's offered in a kit though. Hard to find a kit these days, chinese factory...
