anyone ever put a 2nd gen body on a first gen PU frame? is it possible? doable, with some ammount of work? there seem to be alot of 2nd gen bodies/dead floating around chaep and not many first gens. TIA

well i tried brake clean and it didnt do ****, i have a can of engine degreaser i found in the basement ill try that. how come no shops want to be nice and hot dip a part for you? i do like the carwash idea......

i am in the middle of rebuilding the front of my toyota, i was wondering what you guys have done to clean up the knucles, i am having a hell of a time trying to get the old dirt and grease and **** off the knuckles. anyone have any easy way to do it? i was thinking of soaking them in diesel but...

along these lines.. oberts marine supply in sodo has 3/4 shackles for like 5 bucks, and lots of lift straps that make good tree savers etc. dont know if they have the line but i would be surpirzed.

i think the clearance for the IFS is alot less then on mine. just swap out the pans they should fit. and i believe 84toy is right about the 2WD/4WD difference,

yes there is a difference.... i didnt have a problem with the newer one in my 85 but it has alot of lift.
