You can just upgrade the rear case's input to 23 spline and leave the front box alone. It's gonna cost like $170 for the coupler though and the cost of a 23 spline input of course. If you are running a 2.28 rear case I have a free 21 spline input for ya, pulled and ready to go.

Ah, I just always default to using 2nd gen mains since they have the shortest front halves. I just glanced at the RUF FAQ, the difference is 5/8", pretty negligible.

That set up should work but you could move your axle forward some, if desired, by running the first three leaves from the 88 due to the pin offset.

I've been on the phone with him and it's running but only after some jerry rigging with a bbq vapor feed. The lock off is hard wired on and propane is present at the test port of the vaporizer but it won't run when properly hooked up leading me to believe the vaporizer is bad. Any thoughts?

Yes, just hard wire the lock off for now while you're sorting it out.

Running your lock off on the same circuit as your coil is probably causing a weak spark. Try running a separate/dedicated feed for your lock off solenoid. Ultimately you should run a relay for the lock off that is keyed on but for now a jumper wire will do. Check for vacuum leaks.
