Fix it or just sell it?

My 2004 Rubicon is getting a complete rear axle warrantee replacement, side to side, complete. The replacement was warranteed because there is a hairline crack in the housing where the upper left control arm mount sits. Looks totally fixable, but the shop told the warrantee people the labor to...

First, thanks to you guys for your patient answers and opinions. Mucho Gracias. I went with the 4.88s, and think I am happy I did. At least for on the road. It's never gonna be a race car, but the speedo is perfectly on the money now, had my wife pace me at several speeds. I was able to use...

Gears haven't ever really been an issue other than on the highway. I put in a new clutch when I bought it, and have only had the occasion to smell it once. I'd like to think I can see a line pretty good, and have managed to do most of the difficult (not necessarily rock crawling) trails around...

I do plan on staying with 33s. It sees Evans Creek, Walker Valley, trails at my family's property. . . Nothing too crazy that I haven't been able to make it thru open. Front is leaking all sorts of grease, has been for some time. I thought rather than just take it apart to repair it that I...

Ok, I'll bite. What's involved in a dual case? Got a general idea of how much it might cost? Is it something that I could do myself with basic mechanical knowledge? Where can I source the parts? Forgive my ignorance.

:haha: @ Scott. Nah, this has been the best rig I've ever owned as far as being dependable and trustworthy. I tried to sell it for 3500 a few years ago and got laughed out of the classifieds. I really appreciate everybody's input. Am also glad I didn't go and grab up the 4.56s. Dual...

    Help upgrading my old Toyota

I've had this truck for almost 8 years, pretty much stock other than an 3 inch spring lift and 33s. It's taken me thru a million trails just for being able to see a line. But it's time to upgrade a little and I have a few questions that I hope I won't get flamed too bad for asking. 1. I...

    Something different.

I have an 85 solid axle efi on 33s for wheeling, but as a side project: 1985 Hatch. Custom ( SJRlift.com ) 4 inch lift in the front, 3 in the rear. Custom made Australian Superlite wheels. 15X7. 27.8.50 Superswampers. Customized Roobar from Australia. (so I feel safer in school zones)...
