did you spray wd 40 around the base of TBI and see if the RPM raises if it raises TBI gasket leaks.I'm still thinking Distrubor shaft housing and shaft this is a common problem on TbI engines with some miles on them.

Does this trans have a lock up torque convertor? If it has replace the TCC solenoid. It can lock up hydraulicly when it hits third gear and stay lockup causing the engine to stall.It will unlock after engine stalls. Or when you had the front pump out you pluged off the one of the holes.

Not Completely sure but The Cam in the zz4 engine hasthe Duration and centerine WRONG. The Compurtor Won't like the valve overlap. If you put it in an injected motor Change the cam to a low cam duration camshaft .See crane cam web site or comp cam web site .Good info.

The 7.4 n motor has seen some dist. shaft bushing problems. Remove dist cap and check for any side to side movement. I have found out the hard way that this WILL cause the vehicle to stall.Please post if any side movment in shaft is found.
