Getting Rotors turned in the Woodinville or Snohomish area?

I have my rotors and drums turned at Carquest in Snohomish. They have a full service machine shop in the back. Stop by and talk to Paul, the machinist. Nice guy. I would imagine that Olympic 4x4 can turn rotors, too.

    diesel vs bigblock

I love the 12v, but in stock form it doesn't rev very fast or very high. And if you turn it way up, then you have to put a bunch of money into the transmission to get it to handle all of the added torque. I say go with the big block. I've kind of debated between an AMC 401 and Cummins 4BT in my...

so i got pulled over today for being to tall

So the next time a cop stops you and wants to let you go with a warning are you going insist that he instead issue you a proper citation as his duty requires?

so i got pulled over today for being to tall

One would have to be fairly clueless to have been involved in the local offroad community for at the least the amount of time that your user registration indicates and yet still remain ignorant of the fact that that truck is in violation of at least some state regs. But I'll give you the benefit...

so i got pulled over today for being to tall

The applicable RCWs were posted in the first response to the thread. What you need to do to make it street legal seems rather self-explanatory to me. A) Lower the truck and put smaller tires on it. B) Fabricate some bumpers that drop down to the legal maximum height, if the headlights are more...

    Tire Sipping

I did not notice an appreciable difference when I had a set of tires siped about 20 years ago and have not bothered with it since. It probably can't hurt, though.

    Starting fluid in a Diesel

The HEMTT 10 ton trucks I drove in the Army had an OEM ether injection system on the Detroit Diesel 8V92s.

    What transfercase?

Didn't the old M-715s use the NP200 as well? PS, what is that on the right in the background? How about some more pics of it?

    Where to get tires locally?

Discount Tire. They will usually match or beat their competitors prices. I would at least give them a call.

    what tools do you buy?

Craftsman. While I know they are not the best, I cannot justify the expense of high zoot tools like Snap-On. Craftsman tools have proven to me to be reasonably priced, durable for my needs, and I have never been hassled about exchanging the ones I have managed to break for new ones nor do I have...

    Interior paint

Any Dodge dealer should have or be able to get paint that will match your interior.

will these work under my Jeep?

They are about 8" wider than your existing axles. The front diff is on the wrong side. The rear could be a Dana 44, but as mentioned is a probably a Dana 35 and best avoided. Seems like people almost give away CJ narrow track Dana 30s. Shouldn't be too hard to find one with disc brakes.

    Tire talk.... tow rigs...

There are many online sources for Toyo tires. But you can't just order them from any local retailer. Les Schwab is supposed to have an agreement to be the exclusive Toyo dealer in this area. I found an online vendor with great prices and a local vendor who would both order the tires and match...

    Tire talk.... tow rigs...

Les Schwab are butt-rapers. That's why I would not/did not purchase my Toyos from them.

    Tire talk.... tow rigs...

Not available with Load Range E, 10 ply rating. I just can't see running anything less on rig that sees frequent hauling and towing.

    Tire talk.... tow rigs...

Toyo Open Country M/Ts and Hankook Dynapro RT03s were the only Load Range E, 10 ply rated tires in 315/75R16 that I could find. I went with the Toyo M/Ts and couldn't be happier with them.

    International Question

I don't now if it is still there, but a few months ago there was an early 70s IH 4x4 pickup at Pull-A-Part in Lynnwood. The front axle had been scavenged of a few parts, but at the time it was otherwise complete.
