    buggy build price

What are the plans for the buggy? Got a build thread somewhere? Are you guys racing it? What class? KOH? Curious about the details. I would be nice to see some more Ultra 4 folks up this way.

    14 Bolt Chromoly debate

TMR Customs also has a shave kit if you don't feel like dealing with Ballistic's pooptacular customer service. I got lucky and bought the diff cover and kit at the swap meet.

    14 Bolt Chromoly debate

I am in the same boat. I have a bunch of **** on order. The 14B and D60 (also king pin) won't get love until I have the Atlas and associated tunnel mods squared away. So I'll be looking for your thread on the shave. Agreed. If not a shaft then something else. Better a shaft than a t-case.

    14 Bolt Chromoly debate

I have yet to hear anything factual about shaved 14B breaking more often than non-shaved. I have heard that breaking a shaft can cause the locker to simultaneously fail. I am working on putting a D60/14B in my junk. The plan is to run stock shafts. I doubt I will need more with a V6. I'd do...

    Through Body Cage Weather Proofing

I think I am going try Sikaflex this time around. A couple of the holes are in a shitty spot.

    Through Body Cage Weather Proofing

I'm buttoning up the cage in the next couple weeks and I am curious what you guys use for weather proofing tubing the goes through the body. I am on rubber body mounts. I don't care about allowing the body to move a bunch, I just don't want the body cracking over time. This is a wheeler not a DD...

whats a good gravel road tire?

He likes them. I haven't heard anything but good stuff about Duratracs. Good in the snow too.

whats a good gravel road tire?

Either of those will do the job you are looking for. I've never ran them but know lots of people that have. I'd go with duratracs personally. I have a buddy that wheels the piss out of them in a 33".

General Toyota knowledge / help wanted

I also wheel an IFS Toyota. It's the same diff in the front as yours. Just different suspension and axles. I run 35s. I break CVs all the time. I try really hard to keep from breaking CVs but I also try to do more than what the truck is really capable of. 5 speeds are easier to feel when the...

General Toyota knowledge / help wanted

I'd agree, a 33 is really about the limits of the Toyota IFS. While IFS is great for on road, it wasn't designed for the offroad abuse you want to give it. You can upgrade to a locker in the front. I know folks that have had good luck with a lunchbox locker in the front but I would still be...

    Balancing large tires?

Tried balancing my 35" PBR and Rock Monster wheel the conventional way. It sucks ass. Wobbles like a bastard. When I get off my ass I will try BB's.

    Radial Tires

In your situation I would look at online companies or patently wait for the tires. trailworthyfab and filthymotorsports normally have them in stock. Yeah, you will pay more, but you might get them 3 weeks before the Discount Tire ones. Those Krawlers would be my absolute last choice for snow...

    Radial Tires

I currently run 17" Rock Monster double bead locks and 35" radial PBRs. I love them. I get out and wheel all sorts of **** but snow wheeling is my favorite. I honestly wouldn't be too concerned with the extra weight of the tire. You kind of threw weight concerns out the window when you went with...

    Battery talk

If it's hitting 11V in a couple days with no draw then the battery is on it's way out. It's not likely to hold 12.6V for 6 months but it should be holding more than 11V for a couple days if it has no draw on it. Charging the battery in parallel is for batteries that appear to be dead and/or...
