    Lets Talk Small 4x4 pickups

Tacoma! Had a 99 2wd and now a 98 4x4 3.4 5 speed Only mid size truck I'd own. Hold resale better than almost any other truck. Sold my 2wd reg cab 99 for 3500 last December.

    mounting tub to custom frame

http://diy4x.com/cart/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=100 Could even do something like this. I can use the factory mount holes but figured 6 floor plates with 4 grade 8 bolts would be better than 6 factorys with holes in the tub for the tube work.

    mounting tub to custom frame

I'm building a new 2x4x.188 frame for the LJ buggy build, I'm at the point that I don't know if stock body mounts should be used.. Considering running 5x5 plate and 4x4 plate on top. Would be about 6 of these (2 by the feet, 2 behind and 2 at the back) I'd think this would be plenty tough to...

The pan hard mount will tie the SE ram mount/upper axle side mount into each other. 4.5" frame sep 9" axle sep 36.5" center to center lowers 35" upper 89% AS

Lower link mounts than I'd like but I did a calculator and got my stuff set how I wanted and this is where it puts me. I'm planning on moving to AK so not too worried about it right now. Might end up having to run a 2x2 box skid frame anyways when I put dual yotas in it, and will make it close...

    Mig Wire Q

We use a 140 lincoln, stargon mix and does plenty good. Of course I normally use 1/8 to 1/4" max, I ran a double pass on my spring hangers (1/4") the other day. It'll burn into stuff pretty good. I wanna get a 220 soon, then keep the 140 setup for sheet metal all the time and have the 220...

    Washers+thicker metal

So obviously a bolt isnt going to pull through thick steel, what is the point of washers? Does it help with shear strength?

    Drill bits and metal

Now I transfer punch (whether is transferring or I want a hole tits on) pilot hole every hole with like 1/8", then I put lube down and do a 3/8 or so size, then lube and go whatever size I need. Most the time I'll just do a pilot straight to the size I need for thin 1/8" stuff. Any brand...

    Ford 9" gear pattern

Will do that in a bit. Gearinstalls.com told me to set backlash tight, tried it, then I tried setting backlash lose. Little better but stlil not very good. I got a .006 shim in it now.
