Trail Of Tears '87 Toy Build

yea i know the bob job is pretty shitty... but if you saw how bad the bed was kinked in right there... and if you knew just how noob i am at welding, well then maybe you just might give me a pat on the back.:flipoff: sorry about the eyesore. :redneck: money has been bad for me lately...

    largest tire on yota axles?

there is more stress on the drivetrain from the small amount of extra power and the lower (than standard 4cyl) 1st gear. the rear diff is indeed stronger than normal 4cyl. its not a dramatic difference. it's good to start out with just a locked rear because locking the front is a can of worms...

    largest tire on yota axles?

depends on how much you build the axles. i know several people with fully built toyota axles running 42's. to run really any tire larger than a 33 with a locked front diff, these parts will eventually become necessary as you destroy all the stock stuff: longfield 30 spliners, longfield hub...

    FJ axles under yota truck?

sweet.:awesomework: are you going to keep the stock rotors and everything on the front? that would be the simplest and cheapest way to go about it initially. if youre gonna run big tires though i would suggest vented fj60 rotors, and wheel spacers to match the rear and width, as well as using...

i dig the xxcab that's some really killer body work you did to make that go together like that. damnnn that's probably the best i've seen someone do that. there's a couple guys on pirate but they never really made it work out. nice work, man.:awesomework:

    FJ axles under yota truck?

for the sake of having a well balanced for on road, off road, flexibility, strength, ease of design and fabrication, and easy on the wallet, I would just go with a leaf sprung solid axle swap with a truck front axle. the fj axles-no matter what edition-are a can of worms for pickup applications...

    Toyota Spring question

the center pin is 21.5" from the front... which is a quater inch more than the stock SA front leafs. the downside to these leafs is that they don't automatically move your front axle forward, because they are a longer spring, the center pin is subsequently farther from the front of the spring...

    Toyota Spring question

yes sir! lots of people use the 51" rear set in the fronts of their rigs. They're reallly flexy because theyre so long. You just have to set it up so you have the axle in the proper position, as well as have the shackle farther back than a standard RUF setup. I'll try to find the thread on...

    Toy driveline q's

thanks man! yea i know i have to clearance it. i swear that joint has a 10 degree maximum range :haha: but you only have about 2 or 3 inches of lift... unfortunately my rig will be a little taller than that. my main question was regarding strength, i guess. but if you ran it on your rig, I will...

    Toy driveline q's

I'm ready to put together some drivelines (finally) and I'm wondering what kind of yokes to use. My idea is to have a CV shaft in the rear, because the rig will see highway use. Can I use ANY toy pickup CV (double cardan) yoke? I talked to one of the marlin techs today and asked about the IFS...

Trail Of Tears '87 Toy Build

Here we go. Not that exciting... I slapped in the :rb: style crossmember to save time, so i didnt have to reroute exhaust and other bs that was in the way of the custom one i was working on. I stretched out the wheelbase a bit... the centerpin of the rear springs should rest somewhere around...
