both out of an xj I need to take the block out of the 88 and put my head on it in my 95 long story but I had a bad starter now it a bad block and missing half a rod.. Good times :beer: thanks

the only thing I can think of is if they shaved off some weight in the inside on the crank to install larger rods or clearnced the crank instead of the block when putting the 400 crank in the 350 block.

Since everything else has been checked or replaced Id say check replace the Idle speed solenoid
