Does anyone know if the block on a 88 1st gen will interchange with a 2nd gen from 94

both out of an xj I need to take the block out of the 88 and put my head on it in my 95 long story but I had a bad starter now it a bad block and missing half a rod.. Good times

Yes, it will.

The only difference should be the knock sensor on the drivers side of the Renix block, your newer harness wont have a plug for it.

Besides the knock sensor, you will have to relocate your coil mount, Renix's are on the P.side wheel well and Bendix (H.O.) are on the P.side of the engine....
