Does anyone happen to know if the 80s/90s model ball joint 60 outer will fit on the newer axles to make them 8 in 6.5 pattern? Or what is another alternative?

Most people have the hubs redrilled. Not sure how much that runs but I just run the 60/10.5 pair with the 8x170 pattern. Never tried swapping any outers.

I didn't think about redrilling them... I work in a machine shop so that wouldn't be bad at all.

So a leaf spring powerstroke front will accept the older outers.. correct?

I've not personally done it but yes I've heard the 97 down outters will fit on a 99-04. Ball joints out. Obviously the stub shaft would have to be changed as well.
