1991 S10 4X4 4.3L inop clutch questions??

i was wondering if anyone knows of any problems with the clutch not wanting to engage? i picked up a truck to tow light loads and DD, but the clutch does not want to engage. engine and everything runs great but the clutch just doesn't seem to want to engage... i'm new to hydraulic clutches also... supposedly the cylinder at the clutch pedal was recently replaced... throwout bearing?? we are tearing into it today to hopefully find out what the problem is... any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

"Clutch doesn't engage" = always in neutral?

-or-

"Clutch doesn't engage" = always in gear?




Crawl under there and watch what the slave cylinder does (or doesn't do) when someone pushes on the clutch pedal.

clutch disc blew apart if you can shift gears with the motor running and nothing happens sounds like the clutch disc just shreded its self. if you can pull the boot off the clutch fork and see if you can look inside and see a birds nest. or the center of the disc ripped out hard to say with out looking at the rig hope this helps you out,good luck.:corn:
