You will earn back some respect if you did give it up, and make it back in the hard way. But you'll be a fool if you can't make LCQ. Time to sink or swim eh?

For me--I would feel better about how I did something if I earned it vs. given a spot. says more about ones character....

Y'all are thinking Larry had a guar-an-Teed place? The way I read his typing is a little different. I read it that he's answering a question with a truth: he's got to get in via the LCQ. I think pretty much EVERYBODY gave up the guaranteed spot unless they placed in the top 20, which we all know he didn't finish. Ergo, anyone who didn't finish last year (like Jason C or Larry) will have to get in via the LCQ or one of the other qualifying events.

I'm hopeful that Larry takes the initiative to compete. I'm thinking he'll get into the KOH via the LCQ. When I read (awhile ago) Jason's recap of his experience, he stated that Larry was flyin thru the desert sections.

I just hope he can keep his **** together to finish the KOH this time.

However, if he does compete, and qualify, he'll earn a lot of respect for following thru with this for a third year.

Of course, I'm betting on Jason C to actually win the whole thing.

Larry, good luck with LCQ, there's a lot of really really hungry people out there. You've got a rig that can do it, it's up to you now.

95% of the folks on the forum have nooo idea what its like or what it takes to run into a far off place(get there) get ready and then compete to the point of bitter tiredness..

Just to clarify, I'm not saying whether larry actually had a spot to give up or not. There are obviously ways to get a spot other than qualifying. I was just stating my disagreement with Treeclimber's statement.

I will be impressed if larry runs and finishes the LCQ, let alone qualifies.

I didnt get to see him cross as I was at mile 44 pits waiting on larry and joey with hazzardous concepts to show back up for fuel on there second time around but never saw them so i didnt get to see the much of the race. Anywho.... I do hope to see larry and JasonC back in it again. :awesomework:

Maybe, but not a wise business decision unless one has the money and team for it, the LCQ is tough and a lot could happen to the rig that could jeopardize the KOH run, I totally understand the earn vs. given idea, I just don't think it would be a wise business decision.

If I recall correctly every rig that made it into and started the 09 race via LCQ finished. If a rig can survive and qualify through the LCQ it stands a pretty good chance of finishing the big show.

Better to brake during the LCQ and not make the show than to break on the course and become another obstacle
