22r help!!!!!!!!

my truck dies when i slow down quick like for a turn or i am going to a stop light. its a stock 1983 22r carb. any suggestions or answers are greatly appriciated

sounds like a big vacume leak,check everything including tightening carb nuts.

check power and operation to the idle shutoff selenoid. sounds like it is not working or you have dirt in the curcuit.

(assuming this is the stock carb)

Sounds like something wrong in the idle circuit....

Mine doesn't idle if you rev it up and let off, it just dies... Its also an 83 with a stock carb... Seems like we are in the same boat.

disconnect and plug the EGR valve and see if it still does it.

Right side of block, towards the firewall, its bolted to the head. Hopefully that helps...
