22re check engine light.HELP!

hey guys, i really need some help. i just had a 22re wired into my 80 toyota. it runs but the check engine light is on and i cant get it to read out any codes not even a system normal code. it just stays lit. i think its wired right. does anyone know what could cause this?

whats the unplug code? i dont see anything about it in the manual. im new to efi i know nothing.

It means you unplug the ****in light and go wheelin.

well that sounds all good but the engines not idling real great and id like to know why so i can fix it. i drive my truck to and from the trail and i have no interest in ignoring problems

I would bet the idling issue has to do with a vacuum hose issue or am EGR issue.

well i wired in a new light and now it works. no bad codes either. iv still got a miss and i cant find any vacuum leaks. i did a comp test wich was very disapointing 130,145,115,155. i geuss ill check the egr for the hell of it but i think i payed $1000 for a core moter.
