Wanting to make my rig a bit quieter. Putting custom long tube headers on with 3" collector. There is no flange, just 3" tube.

Is there a round muffler that will reduce the sound enough where I don't wake the dead easing around the trail? I don't mind the noise at wot.

i used dynomax bullets on my bbc. they are cheap and come in a hundred different sizes and inlet sizes. WOT they sound pretty good. Of course it is a chevy motor so there is that :dblthumb:

longer pipes do just as much, if not more, than a muffler on short pipes. slap a dynomax bullet (or any other flow through style bullet muffler) on there - run the pipes out the back as far as you can and it will be leaps and bounds quieter

That said...I have 2 dynomax mini bullets (3") on my buggy, dumping the exhaust right out by the rear link mounts and its pretty loud. Its about half as loud as some bouncers...but its still not quiet.

I run magnaflo and very happy with them. Not loud just riding around but really talks when you gas it.

Re:

I like them to be kind of quiet when you're just putting around but I want some noise when I get on it. Reminds me that shits getting serious and I better pay attention.

I've got their 3" xr-1 on my jeep. Sounds good

Or for the money, Spintech sounds outstanding. The old buggy "Chrome' ran a Spintech after a 383ci and it was awesome.

Borla's are expensive but I had one on my last rig and I loved it, well worth the money not to loud to you hammered on it.And it just sounds different than every other rig out there.

Thanks for all the input.

I was actually thinking of the dynomax bullets and more pipe.
