85 chevy hood and hinge on a 79??

i got a 85 or close to it parts truck today and was thinking of swapping the hood or at least the hinges over to my 79 with the older hinges and my bent hood.. i havent looked at it yet to see what it looks like,just wondering if anyone has done this??or will i have to change out like fenders and such too??:corn::corn:

The way they latch is different...

The 85 should have a two piece spring and hinge set-up...

Nothing will line up as far as bolt holes...

Swap the whole front clip...

Dirty's right, the mid 80's whole clip is different though it's pretty easy to put a newer hood & fenders on an older truck. You have a bent Chevy hood? I've never heard of such a thing:haha:

I know right...lol..

I had a 75 chevy i bought from a auction for $700... the hood had been oiled since 75 i think.. the thing opened and shut flawlessly not the slightest of bends..
