SO i have access to a 94 chevy astro van with cmfi amd a 4l6o-e i think trans it the heavy duty tow package one i am just woundering if the trans is any good? and would it be worth running that motor. whats the longevity of it ?

I swapped the same engine and tranny into my Samurai and I love it.
Got mine out of a 95 s-10 Blazer.

Been beatin on the motor and tranny for about two years now and havent had any problems with eather.

You will need to have a V.S.S. and a DRAC module to make the tranny shift correctly, but thats not a real big issue to install. Other than that the 4L60E is a great tranny.

The CPI 4.3 engine is a good motor, but you might want to replace the fuel presure regulator, its a known failure with this engine.

Here is my swap.
