9mm suggestions...

So after putting a bunch of rounds thru the wifes new Rugar LC-9 I really liked it except the fact the grip is too small for my hands (fits her to a tee). The recoil was no problem with the short barrel but it just doesn't feel right with the small grip.

What other suggestions for a 9mm with a little larger grip?

You looking for something to carry or just to shoot?

A Springfield XD or XDm and Smith M&P are both nice guns and are decently priced (also available in compact or fullsize depending on what you are after).

glock or xdm. i shot an xds the other day, to slim of a grip/ that said, love my xdm45 3.8

in 9mm i have a glock 17 and a sig p938, i absolutely love the sig, its a short range little gun but is put together well. you can always buy the hogue slide over grips, or whatever there called, i did this on my glock. or just step up to a nice 1911 in the 45 caliber :cheer:.

Another vote for S&W M&P. My .40 compact came w/ three different backstraps so you change the grip size to your liking. The 9mm version is identical. My wife shot it last weekend and absolutely loved it and I'll probably get her one in the 9mm version.

Glock 19 is actually really nice to shoot, and carrying isn't bad with the right holster. The grip is still big enough to fit your hand without adding and extender too.

I also really like the XDs, and am planning on getting one soon.

S&W M&P. Look at the Shield and the Compact. The Shield is a single-stack, so it has a thinner grip.

Walther PPQ 9mm. If you like the P22, as I do, it's just a full size version of the same thing (essentially...) If you're into suppressors, get the Navy version, I have really enjoyed mine. I don't carry it (yet), as I carry a LCR in the woods and an LCP for "urban".

I prefer a revolver for carry, but everyone has an opinion and if you're wanting a semi auto, there are some good options out there. I personally think the glocks are "bricky" yet I really wanted and would still get an XD. :redneck:

I know your doing your research but go test everything out and see what you like best. It's hard making a call like this because everyone is different, just please dont go buy a high point. I know your up north but maybe there is a place you can test pistols at close to your house.

It has it's good parts along with the bad, every pistol is going to have a bad review. I have heard the same thing a couple times before and the fix is aftermarket barrels and spares.

happy with my ruger SR9.very comphy for me.wife likes to shoot it also. not easy to conceal with shorts an a t-shirt.so i carry a SCCY subcompact 9mm for pocket carry in the summer..have been thinking of getting a ruger SR9c but havent yet..

I like the Beretta 92FS... A heavier gun seems easier to hold steady when you got the dt's, or too much caffeine. It also excels as a bludgeoning weapon.

So does the term "single stack" refer to how the rounds are set in the magazine? Single stack meaning the rounds are in a vertical row like the wifes LC9 ?

I got my wife an lc9 also. She loves it, but I feel your pain with the grip. Even with the "extended" grip, it isn't big enough. Does her gun have a pink lower?? I thought I saw that in the picture...
