Maybe they'll lose ANOTHER $30,000,000,000 in the process, too. I wouldn't put it past McNerney, either. Another 787 fiasco is sure to make customers and investors happy. :awesomework:
 
So sorry, "the Boeing company"

The 787 fiasco was thanks to a majority share holder, MD and the great Stonecipher. Not Boeing.

Mistakes were made. I don't see that happening again.

Betting the 777X will go to Long Beach. The skills and space are there and CA wants it. They will give the tax breaks to Boeing to make it happen. Just look at all the engineering jobs they moved there.

This vote was for two things on Boeings end, 1) a reason to move and say they tried 2) Get Olympia to hand them a bench mark tax break to give the other states something to aim for. The fact that now Olympia is pissed and moving to make WA a right to work state is a bonus for Boeing.

If Olympia does make WA a right to work state then all other union workers will have the 67% of the IAM to thank for it.

Outside of the 737MAX, I don't see anymore new planes coming to WA.

Also why did so many people think this would be a bluff when the CEO is anti union? That just doesn't make sense to me.
 
The days of hiring & retiring at a company have vanished.
The 67% have just cost 100% their job security along with many generations to come.

NO thats not what I'm saying, you said they will go to the air show and say buy our planes but we don't know where we will build them...

and I said we will see... that is all nothing more...

I understand that this is your opinion, but based on what facts....or do you own a crystal ball and can see into the future....?

I would say its based on the fact that the state is moving to become a right to work state thus removing what power the unions have.

In the last twenty of so years, a great number of Auto Manufacturers have opened factories in the US. Kia, Hyundai, VW, Subaru, etc.....
Not ONE of those factories is a Union Shop.
The UAW has made it a priority for the last two decades to convert them to Union Shops, and has failed at every facility, and at some facilities, the UAW failed a couple of times.

It would not surprise me, if the machinist union at Boeing is the current strongest negotiating union in the US. With the Longshoremen's union perhaps the next strongest.

Both of these unions hold monopolies on the type of work they do. However, 'big business' is a profit driven entity, and I forsee a time when neither union will survive.

Sorry I forgot to insert the word "May" in there.

Actually one of my close family members is very high up in the state Attorney Generals office and told me that the big tax incentives offered by the state were done with the intention that voting would go the way it did so they can say they tried all they could to retain boeing but anticipating not having to give those breaks. They knew how this was going to play out.

It is sad that our state truly is a game to the officials and large companies.
 
It's all water under the bridge now.... Boeing will be looking to take the lowest bid and the best tax breaks to build this new plane... And we all know that means the IAM will not be part of that picture.

What is funny is that Boeing announced the Engineering was not going to be done in puget sound weeks before the IAM vote. That should have been a CLUE???

Engineering can be done anywhere. They only need a handful available for issues that come up during the build.

So far I get the impression Boeing was playing hardball and will pull up here shortly and be gone from the state. Hopefully I'm wrong cause that ****s everyone else in the state. ...

Some members in the union were not willing to gamble the future of the state and our jobs on if Boeing was bluffing. Sadly we were out numbered. **** happens. Sadly this **** will screw a lot of people if it keeps happening. I hear people everyday here saying Boeing will come back with another offer that will be better. Again, people at Boeing are not all living in the real world.

I keep hearing that as well. Many voted no because they "knew" another offer was coming... :rolleyes:

well I really don't know, it would only be a guess on my part if they had a plan B. What I do know is, they wanted to go to the air show on the 17th that's this Sunday and say we have a stable work force for X amount of years at the Everett plant to build the 777&777X, so one would think that they would not want to say that they don't know where they will build it..

yes speculation on my part, but I really don't think buyers want to here that...

I think the airshow will answer more questions for everybody. They have plan B, and if they want customers business and trust, they should be honest about there plans. Sooner or later they will see through Boeing/ Mcnerney. Its all speculation at this point.

At this point I would trust some greasy ass used car sales man then I would the IAM or Boeing. Both lie like hell, but for some unknown reason people still trust the IAM.:rolleyes:
 
Because people still think it's the 40's when unions were for the worker not their pockets.
