• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

A slight rebuild

wow that is bad ass!!!!! what wall thickness tube did you use? i made one that was 1.5 .120 with 1.25 .120 and bent the hell out of it. ended up cutting it off and put an artec on it. yours looks like it is braced better than mine was.

That's the damn sexiest suck down point I ever saw! Lol.

I could post a sexier one, but let's keep this thread away from 35%.

All seriousness, I like the dimples. Weight savings, strength and looks awesome.

Wizzo- everything on truss besides the link tabs(.25), bump pads(.25) and small bridge(.188 ) that supports them is .125. The front tube is 1.75"/.133 capped by 2"/.120. I have a similar back bone truss in rear that is holding up well, but it doesn't get hit head on as frequently. Hope this does well up front.

LBJ-that is some funny ****, thanks for the laugh this morning .

Appreciate all the kind words fellas

I do what I can :cougar:

I didn't go look at the build thread but probably will in a minute. What did you not like about the ORI's? I don't think I can be talked down from getting a set, but would like to hear your reasoning? I was guessing you do some high speed driving or they were too bulky to fit!

Don't have anything really bad to say, and wouldn't hesitate to run them again in the future. I just am ready for more tune ability. I ran them for 4 years and my only two complaints would be leaking down; and just a little less stable off camber and go fast. They are an excellent product. Although i was always afraid to leave to go wheel without my nitrogen set up.

We're always looking for more out of our rigs and i feel coilovers will get me just a bit further once properly tuned.

Re:

Excellent response. I am borderline .........insert negative mechanical ability here........when it comes to shock tuning, welding and fab. For me, I would think it would be easier to tune and I would get more bang for my buck. Nitrogen upper and nitrogen lower sounds pretty easy to get semi dialed in, even if you are mechanically handicapped like me.

They are very easy to get to a likable setting. I had a couple different sets of pressures i would use to get ride height and /or ride particular to the park i was visiting.

I'm excited about learning coilovers

Post up the follow up on coil overs and their tuning. Seems like you are catching up on the learning curve and pressing on. My wallet is the only way I will catch up, and I am a broke ninja.

Badass fab work. I hope you do this for a living cause if u don't you need to. :****: :dblthumb:

Thanks but no, i operate my own business of catalytic converters and precious metals recycling as my day job. Been tinkering for 20 years in metal work in the form of rockcrawling. I've done a few paying jobs but I'm so particular no one would want to pay me for all the brainstorming time i spend thinking this **** up lol.

Doing some fab as we speak

Almost done with the upper front shock mounts. Drivers side any way, second side always go faster, always twice the time brainstorming than fabricating....

The top and both sides around bolt hole for shock will be laminated with a second piece of .125.
