I have to stop in Monroe to get a battery, so I'm going to be late. Can anyone tell me what road to turn down?

I think it is Foss River road. On the right just past skykomish. I can confirm when we get there.

It is Foss, go past the trucks turn around and park in line if you are towing

Stupid GD battery :(

Still ended up having a good time up there, snow was a little tricky...especially if you drive a Ford Ranger, Stock XJ, or a Ford Explorer :rolleyes:

How far up the trail did you get? I was up there a few weeks ago after the big dump and we didn't even get to the fire pit. Deep, heavy, snow that was tough to get on top of.

I high marked the road up to the left at the main Y--followed by blowing up stuff on the hill/bank....

The tamers that headed down rescued everyone on the hill. We were the last ones off the hill.

We found the owners of the Ranger and XJ and got them off the hill along with that fullsize dodge, the expolorer, toyota tundra, and the kids in their stock toyotas with the CJ-7. It was quite the goatfawk but we got them all off the hill and safely home. :awesomework:

We had like 1 or 2 layers of crust snow and then a super powdery snow that didnt want to pack under the tires and keep you on top up north

In the hubs defense the stub shaft broke and took out the hub. Heading out now to tear it apart and hope my spindle isn't destroyed too..

Small group this year? Seems like most of the pictures only show 5-6 rigs.

I think last year we had in the mid teens.... I couldn't make it this year. Wife had back surgery the 31st and stayed overnight at Overlake... LAST thing I was going to be able to do was go play in the mountains :haha: but I had a good time last year and would like to make it again next year. Weather couldm't have been nicer though....

So you stopped at the Y? What's it going to take to go up the right fork to the trail head like we did last year? Do we need a rain/melt cycle and refreeze to firm up the pack? I was over at Beckler on New Years Day and couldn't believe how much snow there is down low.

I didn't--I made it on the top road till almost the first turn. Nobody could get close to where I was so I figured if I got into trouble I would have been screwed--so I backed down,lol..

Chad and I went up the left fork at the Y. We struggled abut went for another 2 or so miles. It was crawling snow. We tried to bash through a few times but the snow was just too dry.

We stopped at the Y, given the time and that everyone was heading back down. Figured if lightweight build rigs weren't making it, the rest of us weren't making it.

Now to kill off 500lbs or so....
