curious if anyone has run the big XL's or versions of them. how they perform in different conditions ie snow, mud, pavement, sand, treadlife etc.

I'm sure the Super Duty could run 'em, but they're less than ideal for that platform - on and off-road. If you're getting them for free, might be fun to try it out for a while.
If it were my money, I'd opt for something a little tamer for the Super Duty - Toyo M/Ts or Wild Country TXRs. IMHO the TXRs are great aggressive tire for the daily driver.
