started washing cars 3-11 senior year. went from detail, to parts, then lube rack in couple years. then wrote service for 14 years. now writer/manager at small shop, thank god only 7 techs. out of the rat race.
Worked pretty much my entire working life in the independant world, save for a couple non auto-related short-lived jobs in and right out of high school...
Been at it for going on 25yrs...
Been a wrecking yard puller, auto mech, auto lube tech, heavy equip lube tech, heavy equip parts guy, heavy equip field tech, and now Shop forman for a const co. with a little of everything to work on.................
i work at duvall diesel as a mechanic pretty green to the automotive field professionally, used to work as a mechanic on industrial gensets. so far i like cars more
Started at a lube place back in--ummm late 86' till early 88'. Went to chev of bellevue in 88' till like 07' and in 97' started at speedway chev in monroe.
I was in collision for close to 10 years, got sick of working for the insurance companies, and don't see myself going back. I've been out of the trade since january and working on a new venture. (still automotive) :D
Lube tech out of high school, worked for an independant shop for 1.5 years, parents bought shop, parents divorced, worked with mom, bought shop from mom... been there 14 years in August.
I have worked at a wrecking yard since 94 I have done parts removal tech,dismantler(pull motors and trans) cut man(cut parts off like qtr panels,noses,roofs and the like)forklift driver,tow truck driver/maintenance (<<< is what i do now),glass removal, and just about every thing else related to taking cars and trucks apart or transport/recovery.
I've worked for 1.5 years for Camping World. (Close enough:fawkdancesmiley:) I also do a lot of side jobs working on log trucks, maintnence and repair and the like.
