az snow wheeling

[BOVADS]

ok so we dont have the kind of snow you guys do, but...
went up on the rim sunday. snow was deep in spots
was running 3-5psi in the tires most of the day.
first pit stop at frozen creek crossing

i broke trail for awhile then let sy play trail breaker

dosent look that deep, but there is about 12-14" below those track, trust i dug down to find dirt

right after sy took the lead he ran into this

the snow was about 4-5' deep right in this wind blown corner

in double low my sled would crawl up on top of the snow with out breaking thru, but it just moved TOO SLOW

if anybody has wheeled with sy, you will know he dosent come off idle to much, this day he did

My son Brandon (AKA BADAZ) had his truck out, even though locked the 31's were killin him;

We turned him around and he road with BOVADS the rest of the day. thanks B.

While waiting for BOVADS and BADAZ to get back we did a little sledding;

We stopped at the frozen creek crossing for lunch;

From here it was all up hill, full throttle and lots of plowin;

Walt was out front first, but we didn't get much pics cos the snow in the shade were screwin up the pics. further up BOVADS took over cuttin trail;

You can see how the sun, shade and snow messed up the pics here. We discovered later we have a setting for snow on our camera.

The snow was dry and powder so there was no stayin on top of it in the shade but in the area that were in the sun? Lookout;

BOVADS decided to go over the cattle guard and Cristina did what any smart photographer would do...... turn off the camera and run;

We stopped at a place in the sun ot relax a bit and let everyone get back together and see if there was any other takers to cut trail. BADAZ decided to have some fun;

then the snow drift, it was deep and soft but I had to try ;

We reached the summit to relax and get cought up some more and I never thought I'd see teh day that my native AZ girl would lay in the snow and make a snowangel;
