Brake pads

Brake pad tech seems to have come a way since I payed any real attention. So what sort of pad should I run on the tow rig? I need a pad that will not fade too badly when hot, and I don't really care how long they last (within reason ofg course). Metalic? Ceramic? What's the scoop?

The Brute ones stop the best under load, but I prefer ceramic/metal blend.
